About Neela

Neela Govinden is a registered Art Psychotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and a member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). Neela understands how important it is to have a space where you can work through your thoughts and feelings.

I value using creative expression for self-discovery and growth. I've seen how it positively affects people of all backgrounds. I'm passionate about exploring our inner selves in today's fast-paced world. I focus on understanding and healing our emotional and psychological struggles, unlocking our potential, and connecting with it through verbal and non-verbal therapies in my practice. I am in awe of how understanding our suffering can lead to our growth and empowerment, and how doing it together can bring the compassion that supports our healing.

I run a private practice called Go Psychotherapy, where I offer one-to-one therapy sessions to people aged 17 and above who are struggling with their thoughts, feelings or past experiences. Troubling thoughts and feelings can be distressing, which makes it difficult for us to be in the present. This can also have a negative impact on our relationships with others, which can be discouraging if we desire close and supportive connections.

During therapy sessions, I work with you to develop your psychological health and relationship with yourself. I recognise that everyone is unique, and my blend of approaches aims to support you holistically. This can enable you to express yourself and understand your inner world on different levels.

If you are looking for a compassionate and non-judgmental therapist to support you one-to-one, I am here to help.

* An Art Therapist or Art Psychotherapist (both terms are interchangeable) is someone who has undertaken art therapy training approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). In the UK, Art Therapists are statutorily regulated by the HCPC and must be on its register to practise legally. Art Therapists can also be registered with membership bodies and are checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) whilst they are in practice.
